For Field Supervisors, we now have two exciting full-time permanent opportunities available at our Balcatta (Cable Jointing team) and Jandakot (Overhead team) depots.
We use cutting-edge technology more than anyone else in the energy business, including microgrid and battery storage solutions, for instance. We are developing the grid of the future in order to give the next generation a cleaner, brighter, and more dependable energy source.
Job Responsibilities
- Distribute on-site work activities to teams, ensuring that the workload is appropriately distributed between team members to avoid unnecessary overtime
- Evaluate and accept works packages from Works Program and Planning
- Ensure work of crews is delivered on time and consistent with organisational policies and standards
- Conduct on-site inspections and quality assurance tasks to ensure that work undertaken by Western Power teams and contractors is consistent with organisation policies and standards
- Ensure Faults involving the network are promptly attended to by crew members to minimise customer impact
- Understand and operate within Western Power’s Occupational Health and Safety systems by reporting including duty of care responsibilities, identifying hazards, taking corrective action, and reporting and investigating all incidents/accidents
- Maintain knowledge of work standards, procedures, and network systems to ensure work is consistently completed to standard
Job Requirements
- Trade qualified – Electrical Fitter / Mechanic Certificate III.
- Preferably 6+ years demonstrated experience in the electrical trade and the transmission/distribution industry, including appropriate licenses or certificates of competency
- Prior experience in a team supervision / coordination position
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation and execution of operation plans
- A sound knowledge of electrical work networks construction maintenance and operations field practices
- Accident investigation skills
- Highly developed teamwork and customer focus skills
- Experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and managing public and stakeholder relations
- Computer literate: Ellipse, MS Office suite -Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Advanced written, verbal and report writing skills
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’APPLY NOW
