After Queens Wharf was constructed in 1833, Morpeth became a key centre for industry and agriculture. For the remainder of the 1800s, Morpeth would be crucial to the culture, industry, and religion of the Hunter Valley. Marketing Manager Position at Maitland City Council in Australia
Produce would travel from the wharves in Morpeth to Newcastle and Sydney while people travelled the other way, using Morpeth as a starting point for trips up and into the Hunter Valley.
However, as Newcastle prospered and other transit lines, like the Great Northern Railway, started to bypass Morpeth on their way to Maitland, the prominence of the township began to decline.
By the time the rail connection between Newcastle and Sydney was completed in 1889, Morpeth's significance in manufacturing and trade had significantly diminished.
Job Responsibilities
- This key role will work collaboratively with all departments of Council to drive and deliver on a range established and exciting plans.
- Including our Customer Experience Plan.
- Communication & Engagement Strategy.
- Digital Transformation Strategy as well as Council’s Delivery and Operational Plans.
- These plans are heavily focused on our vision to deliver ‘Un-Council like’ services, honest and transparent communications and exceptional customer experiences.
Job Requirements
- You will be a highly organised and passionate leader that is focused on driving teams to deliver Council’s vision to the community.
- You are amazing at building relationships, proactive, great a juggling multiple projects, and are known for getting in and getting the job done.
- You will hold degree qualifications in Business, Marketing, Communications, Customer Experience or a related discipline or equivalent contemporary experience.
- Your strong communication skills will see you as an outstanding collaborator with innovative thinking and experience.
